Review : Molecular Mechanisms for the Effects of Exercise on the Regulation of Glucose, Fatty Acid, and Amino Acid Metabolism
Abstract
The metabolism of carbohydrate, fatty acids, and amino acids is greatly affected by acute exercise training. In this review, we summarized the most recevt of the effects of exercise on the metabolism of the substrates used for energy production. We focused mainly on the regulation of glucose transport system, glycolysis, and pyruvate dehydrogenase complex in the glucose metabolism, on the regulation of fatty acid oxidation and the interaction between glucose and fatty acid oxidation in the fatty acid metabolism, on the regulation of branched-chain amino acid catabolism in the amino acid metabolism. The evidence summarizd in this review allows us to understand the molecular mechanisms responsible for the of exercise on the metabolism
