Effects of Rope - Jumping Exercise on Body Fat , Cadiorespiratory Function and Serum Lipids in Obese Children |

Abstract |
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of rope-jumping exercise on body fat, cardiorespiratory function and serum lipids level in obese children. Twenty children were employed : experimental group(10) and control group(10). Age range was 12-13. The subjects underwent Combi 800 bicycle ergometer exercise. Body composition test was to measure %Fat, FBW, and LBW by biodynamic 310. Blood samples were obtained at pre test during prescriptive duration for analyzing serum lipids(T.C, T.G, HDL-C, HDL-C/T.C). HR and VO_2max were measured at pre and post test through combi 800 bicycle ergometer exercise during exercise duration. This data was analyzed by repeated ANOVA between each groups. The conclusion of the study was as follows : 1. Body fat during rope-jumping exercise were significantly(-19.8%) reduced by each prescriptive duration. Reactive effects for repeated ANOVA were not significantly different between each group and prescriptive duration. 2. HR at rest in experimental group during each duration were significantly(-8.73%) reduced by each duration. VO_2max were significantly(15.5%) increased during exercise prescriptive duration. But control group were not significantly different during each duration. 3. Total cholesterol, triglycerides at rest in experimental group during each duration were significantly(-17.7%, -32.9%) reduced by each duration and HDL-C and HDL-C/T.C ratio level were significantly (28.4%, 57.7%) increased during exercise prescriptive duration. But control group were not significantly different during each duration. In conclusion, when rope-jumping was to do with exercise of the same intensity and duration, they showed highest decrease ratio of T.C, T.G and body fat and high increase ratio of HDL-C and HDL-C/T.C ratio level were significant effect for obesity solution. Also, rope-jumping was considered to improve the cardiorespiratory function in obese children. |
